The Castle of Cosenza rises on top of the Pancrazio hill and from there dominates the village below.
The manor has had many developments over the centuries: raised by the Saracens shortly after the year one thousand and destroyed by an earthquake, it was rebuilt by Frederick II of Swabia, who made it a military fortress in all respects. From a strategic construction, the castle was adapted to a princely residence: among the various guests, it welcomed Louis III of Anjou and his wife Margaret, daughter of Amadeus VIII of Savoy.
